Dr. Pepper will be giving away free 20-ounce sodas starting Sunday at 12:01 a.m.

The coupons for the free drinks will be available on the Dr. Pepper Web site and will be available for 24 hours. The coupons will be honored through February 28.

What inspired this act of generosity? It is the release of Guns N' Roses' new album, Chinese Democracy and the integrated publicity blitz. The company said in March that they would give away free drinks if the band released their new album in 2008.

Since the album has been released, the company now has to deliver.

In a statement, Dr. Pepper's vice president of marketing said, "We never though this day would come. But now that it's here, all we can say is: The Dr. Pepper's on us."

So tell all your friends, and make sure to get your free Dr. Pepper.

Free Coffee From Starbucks On Tuesday

Starbucks Corp. is introducing a new coffee Tuesday and will be giving away cups of its new Pike Place Roast brew beginning at 9 a.m.

The offer is being offered on Election Day to keep us happy voters energized.

The new coffee is named after the location of Starbucks' first store, which opened in Seattle's Pike Place Market in 1971.

According Starbucks, the new coffee was created after the Seattle coffee giant received input from 5,000 coffee drinkers.

They added that Pike Place Roast would be the chain's first coffee bearing a mark that the coffee is purchased "ethically" from sources.
